Current Teaching Assignment -

I am teaching middle school science to the 6, 7, and 8 instructional groups and algebra 1 to the 8 Alpha instructional group during the 2005-2006 school year. The science curriculum for Group 6 is a general science curriculum that will cover energy, waves of all types, ecosystems, the solar system, and human biology. The science curriculum for Group 7 is mainly life science but also includes space and technology as part of our preparation for the Challenger Field Trip. The science curriculum for Group 8 starts out with chemistry but then focuses on earth science.

My Background -

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and I worked as an engineer for Westinghouse for 17 years. My involvement in the student outreach activities of the Society of Women Engineers lead me to consider a change of career. I then received a M.S. in Education from Duquesne University aloong with my initial certification in Physics and General Science. Recently I have completed the extra requirements necessary to achieve a Middle School Math certification as well as my science certifications.
