There are many ways to assess a child's performance.

Various ways in the classroom that are used as follows:

• Assigned papers - this is work that is introduced and should be easy for the child to do on their own
• Partner activites-this is work that involves the imput of another child
• Discussions- this is work that involves a group to interact with
• Projects-this is work that is family centered
• Portfolio refelections- the child writes reactions or feelings to a given topic.
• Group Meetings-interaction among small groups of children to create a given objective
• Partner editing-involves discussion with a partner to compare notes on a given idea.
• Teacher editing-this is a time where teacher and child meet to create dialogue about what work was completed and how it can be made better.
• Verbal expression-oral communications used to describe a given work
