PJAS Awards: Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science

The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) is a statewide organization of junior and senior high school students designed to stimulate and promote interest in science among its members through the development of research projects and investigations.

PRSEF Awards: Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair

This is an open competition of research projects in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering.  This competition is open to all students in grades 6-12 from 23 counties in Western Pennsylvania and Garrett County in Maryland.    

Gym Awards: Presidential Active Lifestyle Award

The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN), is an American government organization that aims to “promote, encourage and motivate Americans of all ages to become physically active and participate in sport”.  It is given each year by the Physical Education teacher and Principal of our school in recognition of commitment to maintaining a regular physically active lifestyle.

PA Middle States Association Accreditation for Catholic Schools 2016-2017

The U.S. Department of Education describes approved accrediting organizations such as Middle States as a “reliable authority as to the quality of education.” Accreditation is an external, objective validation of school quality and student achievement that fosters continuous school improvement.

Carson Scholar Award: Carson Scholarship Foundation

Given to an eighth grade graduating student demonstrating scholastic achievement: including maintenance of a 3.75 minimum average for 2 consecutive years.

Golden Apple Award

This Award honors outstanding individuals who symbolize excellence in and out of the classroom, are committed to Catholic values and are devoted to teaching in the Catholic School system. Queen of Angels Catholic School’s Mrs.Karen Longo, received this award in 2018.

Student Spotlight

This Award honors outstanding students in the Diocese of Greensburg who exemplify the values of the Catholic faith, are leaders in their school and community, and have achieved academic excellence.
